Our Team
Desert Off Road Racing is the vehicle, literally, that allows us to become a part of this peninsula and its culture, to be someone that the locals look up to, yet they know that you understand what their land, and their passion is about.
And that is why, to us, Off Road Racing in Baja is not just a sport, it is a way of life!
A very integral & essential ingredient for a successful race team in the Baja 1000 is without doubt co-drivers and crew. The co-drivers not only have to be the second pair of eyes for the drivers but have to navigate and point out dangers or difficult sections. Unlike Rally Racing, these are not 10 or 20 mile stages but continuous 300 to 500 mile sections per driver! They use notebooks, GPS and iPad systems like LEADNAV to help keep the drivers safe and on track.
The crew’s importance is not only on race day, where they have to be divided over the entire Peninsula in strategic places for pit and chase support, but the months if not almost an entire season to prepare and get the race vehicle ready for Baja! This is so much more than a team of individuals, this is one family sharing one wish, one goal!
Andrea Tomba
DRIVER, LOGISTICS & TEAM MANAGER
Born in Sweden and brought up by Italian parents and a French educational system before going to University in London, England, to study business, Andrea has quite a varied background.
After some time in the world of real estate and trading in England, Andrea moved to la Paz in 1994 and set up a successful diving and water sports center, following his passion for SCUBA as a PADI Master Instructor, and Spearfishing Free diving. Andrea hosted several world class events, including Spearfishing World Cups and guided several trips landing World Record fish.
However, although drawn to the Sea, Andrea quickly became enticed by the locals love for off-road racing. That love led to Andrea owning his first race car in 1996, a Class 9 Buggy, after which he moved up to Class 7, driving for the TECATE Off Road Racing Team. Andrea later moved up to, first Class 6 with a FORD Explorer, where Andrea won his first Baja Championship, after which he switched to Full Size pick-ups (Class 8 Open), in which he accumulated 5 consecutive Championships. Andrea has had the opportunity to drive for various other teams since 2012, as which he was proud to be part of a SCORE Baja 1000 Class win in Class 5 Open for Tanom Racing, a SCORE Baja 1000 Trophy Spec Second Place and a finishing effort, driving over 600 miles in Trophy Truck in the grueling 2017 50th Anniversary Baja 1000.
Andrea fell in love with the simple beauty of the Baja Peninsula and its surprising variety of land, terrain and mesmerizing hot spots, but more so for the local people, whom keep surprising you with their generosity and kindness, especially the further you get away from the paved roads. He has found a rich quality of life getting to know Baja both on and under the water, as in the desert for over the last two decades and is proud to call many of the ranchers as friends.

James sejd
James Sejd love for racing got planted deep in his soul whilst flying on top and through large bodies of water, earning various national championships in Off Shore Power Boat racing.
Having spent a fair amount of time in baja desert driving through 7 day desert expeditions, James finally decided to trade breaking waves for overcoming silt in 2022 by racing both in Southern Baja, where he decided to throw himself in the deep end by attacking the Trophy Truck Class, and NORRA in a Prerunner Class 1988 Ford Bronco.

Tony wille
Tony was born in Tinley park IL and was quickly introduced to racing. Tony’s Dad Rich took him to the drag races at US 30 Drag strip and the local stock cars at raceway park. As a teenager, Tony was fortunate enough to be asked to be on the NHRA safety team at the 1983 mile high nationals at bandimere speedway. After the that week, he was hooked!
He knew that some point he would have to have a drag car of his own. In 1997 Tony did just that. He enjoyed some success racing his 1969 Chevelle at Bandimeere speedway for several years. Tony had dreamed of someday pursuing off road racing and in 2016 as fate would have it, he met the right guys to get him in the sport.
After a couple years in a rented class 15 buggy, Tony decided it was time for something bigger and faster. It was 2017 when we purchased the class 8 truck now known as La Ruca. In 2018 Tony partnered up with his friend Andrea Tomba to win the Pro baja class 8 championship.
Tony also was also runner up in the Campeonato Estatal Baja California Sur series that year. Tony went on to win the Campeonato Estatal series in the 2019 and 2023 seasons. In 2023 he partnered with hid buddy Sandy hall to win the pro baja class 8 championship for a 2nd time.
In 2023 Tony was asked to pilot a land speed car and quickly fell in love with that sport and is currently working a setting a land speed record.
Tony is looking forward to the 2025 off road season where he is currently juggling calendars for NORRA, Best in the Desert and Land Speed Records and is for ever grateful to his wife Dusti who has always supported his racing passion, whether chasing or co-driving, 307 Racing has always been a family affair!

FELIPE “PIO” NERI ALVAREZ – CREW CHIEF
Felipe, affectionately known as PIO, was born in La Paz, and fell in love with Off Road racing before he even knew how to walk we think!
His father was an off road motorcycle racer, and from as early as he can remember, Pio and his family were at every baja 1000, at every off road race possible, to cheer on their favorite drivers.
Pio can name you not only most cars that have raced in the history of the Baja 1000, but drivers, anecdotes and all that other incredible information on off road racing. Following his love for racing, Pio quickly decided that he was to follow a career in Mechanics, and quickly worked for several teams, including being the crew chief for successful teams such as FRADISA, and being main mechanics for Gastellum Motorsports, Paularena Motorsports before becoming Crew Chief at ATRacing.
With Andrea, they quickly gelled, and Pio has been sitting in the right seat since 2011 in most Andrea’s races, and his quick thinking and determination are undeniable attributes.
A great mechanic with a infectious smile, Pio is a great attribute to the No Limit crew, Pio is also a very talented driver and has been in the driving seat for Class 8, Class 1 and the Queen of all classes, Trophy Truck.

Sandy hall
Sandy was born in Fredricksburg, West Virginia, which set the perfect training grounds for trail riding on both motorcycles and quads, however it wasn’t until his early twenties that Sandy decided to take the big step and to start racing!
Sandy’s first steps into the world of racing addiction was taking part of the US Motocross series, as well as racing Unlimited Sprint Karts, both on dirt and asphalt. Sandy maintained his fix for both asphalt and dirt for a long time, on asphalt by racing his Viper and ’65 Cobra at the Virginia International Raceway and Summit Point Race Track, whilst he tackled the dirt n the unforgiving GNC Cross Country Racing Circuit on his quad with his brother, and fellow competitor, Chris.
In 2006, Sandy discovered Baja, and very quickly started a love affair with the Peninsula, initially finding more and more opportunities to go and visit, and shortly after extended his construction business to include Baja interests and projects.
In 2011, Sandy decided to favor the dirt side of racing, and bought a race-designed Polaris Razor and started to race in the Southern Baja Off Road Race Championship in Class 18, and continued in 2012, when he also stepped up on the Podium as Class Champion.
In 2013, Sandy took home some impressive results winning the Class 18 Championship once again, whilst also gaining the runner’s Up position in Class 2
In 2015, Sandy won the Class 1 Southern Baja Championship and also drove the Trophy Truck spec to the finish in 2nd place in its class for the legendary SCORE Baja 1000.
No Limits Baja Adventures embraces Sandy’s love for Baja, racing and adventure and allows him to share these passions with other aficionados

Barbarita:
“My name is Bárbara Álvarez, and I am 12 years old, born in La Paz, Baja California South.
I can’t really remember my first two years of life, I guess that I was pretty much a baby then, but my parents have photographs and videos and tell me that literally, the sound of a racing engines was music to my ears. My dad is a crew chief for an off-road team, race preparator and race co-driver, so he would always take me to the events and contingencies.
I can start to remember when I was about three years old, that I would get really excited and emotional when I would see him in a race truck, and I remember that just watching him, even though sometimes he would take me in the truck with him through mechanical revision or something like that. I would start feeling something, something like a tingling over my whole body, and that tingling, that emotion is with me every time I get in a race car today. I would always boast to everyone that my daddy is a racer, and that, one day, I would be like him.
As the years have gone by and I keep following my dad in his races and at work, one day I said that, when I grow up, I will be like my dad! I like to draw cars and I liked to think that one day I would be able to drive one.
Now, thanks to my daddy and the support of his friends, I have my OWN race car, which makes my heart beat at a thousand miles an hour! I have already stacked up 4 years of experience in the off-road world which have gifted me the most beautiful feelings that I cannot explain as well as adrenaline! As the number of kids in the Championship grows, I am lucky to be surrounded by more and more boys and girls who share my same passion, and we learn to be competitors on the track and friends off the track.
In 2023 I was able to accomplish winning the Southern Baja Off Road Championship in UTV Kids, the class that I was racing in.
This 2024, has been somewhat of a struggle as we had some adaptation problems with the new car that we built, however following my dad/s “never give up” mentality, I managed to keep my place on several podiums and am hoping for a place on the Championship Podium once again. However, I have to say that one of my greatest personal achievements was to become more comfortable talking in front of cameras as I had the opportunity to be part of several tv and radio shows locally, promoting my sport and trying to get more young people involved, especially young girls in what has typically been a male dominated sport.
For the 2025 season, we are looking forward to continuing being in the mix for victory and are hoping to be able to climb to the higher 450cc class with the continued help and support from my family, friends and sponsors.
My parents, my family, my parents’ friends and mine are all witnesses to the fact that, since a baby, I have always felt something really special towards off road racing, and they are truly the best witnesses that this is something that I love, something that is in my blood!”
Pio and Ana have always made a huge effort to include Barbara in all the team’s racing efforts, as this is a sport and a job that swallows up a lot of family time, but certainly is a family affair. They have always encouraged Barbara to follow her passions and to look at other sports or activities, but Barbara was pretty headstrong about what she loved. As a team, we are very proud of Pio &Ana’s effort to make this dream come true, an effort which was made possible with the thanks to several of our friends and sponsors, in particular Tanom Racing, M3 Racing, Raceline Wheels, Quaker State, Vision X Lights, Rigo Videos, I Love Oil & Gas, and many more. It has been incredible how everyone in the local race community has reached out to help however they can, and now we look forward to the local promotors giving the kids the opportunity to race during the racing events as soon as possible!
